Colt DCS and ISG conduct Health and Safety Week at London Hayes

05 Oct 2023

At Colt DCS, Health & Safety is a key priority and is an area that the business has heavily invested in. This is not only applicable for our staff, but also our partners and hired contractors, as we strive to mitigate risk during the construction and operational running of our data centres by implementing numerous strategic protocols and comprehensive safety control measures.

Last week, the Colt DCS London Hayes project team, alongside construction specialist ISG, held a Health & Safety Week event at our Colt London Hayes Data Centre construction site.

Colt DCS Health and Safety Week

Attended by all involved in this project, the event showcased industry best practices in Health & Safety and Wellbeing, with the aim to continue to build a positive Health & Safety culture at Colt DCS and reinforce these principle values.

Some of the presentations and activities delivered over Health and Safety Week included:

  • A presentation by Mark Nolan, Global Health & Safety Director at Colt DCS on Human Behaviour in the Workplace.

  • A Culture and Development Safety session by Billington Structures Ltd

  • A Fall Prevention & Working session by Galldris Group

  • A Traffic management and Road/Cycle Safety session by the Metropolitan Police

“Investing in a culture of Health & Safety at Colt DCS is incredibly important for our employees and customers. We serve some of the world’s largest organisations with our hyperscale data centre solutions - many having complex and demanding IT infrastructure requirements. Assuring our staff, partners and contractors that their safety and wellbeing is highly valued is fundamental to productivity. This translates into an improved level of employee engagement, a greater resilience to challenges and an overall reduction of disruption. All enable us to deliver and exceed on service level agreements, and continue to strengthen our long term partnerships with customers”.
