In 2023, Colt DCS began expanding its UK portfolio by introducing the Colt London 4 Data Centre. Having celebrated the site’s ground-breaking ceremony, construction of this 31MW hyperscale facility has commenced and is well underway. On completion, this data centre will be the first of a five-building campus.
The construction timeline below gives an overview of the key milestones completed in the build.

The construction and project team celebrate 1.3 million safe working hours being successfully achieved onsite.
Diesel power generators are positioned on site.
Critical cooling equipment is delivered and installed on the data centre’s roof.
Work commences on fitting the glass panels and exterior cladding.
The project team and construction partners organise a week emphasising on the importance of Health & Safety.
Colt DCS celebrates the topping out ceremony as the roof of the building is complete, and the final steel beam is put in place, therefore completing the building structure.
Ground works are largely complete and the construction of the steel frame commences.
The trenches are dug, piling is started and concrete is poured into the base structure.
The site is excavated and prepared before the foundation building work begins.
